Milano Centrale -> Côte d'Azur

I'm so happy to be for the week-end in France! I haven't been in my home country for almost a year (319 days to be precise)...

There is a direct train (twice a day) from Milano Centrale to Nizza that takes "only" 5 hours. You can also take many connexions stopping in Ventimiglia and/or Genova. OK, I must admit that it is a little bit boring to sit in an italian train compartment for such a long time but it's worth it! From Genova to Nice it goes along the coast and the view is superb. You even get extra time to admire the landscape because the train is of course at least 30 minutes late on the schedule...

I think that it's now one of the best period to travel there. In deed, tourists haven't arrived yet and it's better to avoid travelling in these italian trains when it's too hot outside (air conditioning is usually out of order and it becomes a furnace).

La côte d'Azur is as beautiful (and posh ;-) as ever. Nothing to compare with the North sea...
