When they discovered how many films I hadn't seen Gigi & Moni decided to handle my lack of culture.
First of all we started with "The sound of music" (1965). It's an old musical from Robert Wise. The story is about a woman that leaves an austrian convent to become a governess to a Naval officer widower with 7 children just before WWII.
Then we watched "Memoirs of a Geisha". I had read the book and I found that the film didn't illustrate very well the personalities of the different women of the house.
Third movie we saw was "Miss Congeniality" (directed by Donald Petrie with Sandra Bullock). Ok, it's real girls film (so don't watch it with your boyfriend, brother... if you want to avoid sarcasm) but very funny! A good caricature of these too pretty women... My favorite scene is the first "You think... I'm gorgeous..." dialogue.
